OBITUARIES

PLEASE DISREGARD DATE ABOVE. IT IS MERELY A PLACEKEEPER FOR THESE POSTS.

RANDY CALLES~

Randy Calles was proud to work for and serve the City of Santa Rosa for many years. Randy was born in La Mesa, CA on August 15, 1955 (is the brother of our Classmate, Robin) and passed away at home from colon cancer on April 13, 2009 surrounded by his loving wife, Georgia Stadler, his mother Joyce Calles, and his siblings, Jim Calles, Gloria Ortega, Elizabeth Mastracchio and Robin Cook. Randy was a lover of life, smart and funny. Randy was well-known -- generous in spirit, he could never pass by a homeless person without opening his wallet. Passionate about politics and the state of our country, he was relieved to live to see a new president come into power. He loved people, old movies, westerns, vintage TV and gambling. He graduated from Feather River College with a degree in Forestry. He enjoyed spending time at his second home near the ocean in Gualala. Randy was especially proud of his military service during the Vietnam era, serving in Germany. Randy was a loving family man, preceded in death by his father, Rudy Calles. Randy is also survived by his nieces and nephews Brian Schuck, Maggie Friele, Jesse Calles, Ana Calles and Dominic Mastracchio. The family wishes to thank Dr. Clifford Kim of the VA, Dr. Nicolaj Andersen of Kaiser-Permanente and the infusion center team, with a heartfelt special thanks to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospice. Services will be held on Saturday, April 18 at (time was not known when this e-mail was sent to me).

If you'd like to send your condolences to Robin or have any memories of Randy you would like to share, she would like to hear from you.
